Volunteer for DCCCD at Fair Park for the Biggest Earth Day Festival in Texas

This article appeared in the April 9, 2019, issue of the student newsletter.

Here's the good news! We have all the technology and solutions we need to solve climate change right now. Don't worry about the future! Join DCCCD for EarthX at Fair Park, April 26-28, to discover the many things you can do to help stop climate change and create a more just and prosperous world.

EarthX calls itself "an environmental organization that educates, informs and inspires people to action for a more sustainable future for our world." And they make sure you're having fun while doing it!

There's an expo with hundreds of exhibitors and speakers, multiple conferences and a film festival.

The expo will feature an auto show, interactive virtual reality experiences (like swimming with dolphins or dancing with flamingos), scuba diving, a solar car challenge, goat yoga, a hemp pavilion and much more.

There are 10 conferences to choose from. Session titles include: Ocean, Transportation, University, Energy, eCapital Summit, Law, Future 500 Summit, Cities and Military. There will also be a faith and eco-justice round table.

The 10-day film festival runs from April 19-28. Films will be shown at Fair Park and select theaters around Dallas.

Attendance at the Expo is free if you register in advance. (It's $5 without registration.)

  • Shift two: 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

To ensure that you get a free T-shirt, you must register with DCCCD to volunteer by April 11.
