The France Boot camps program provides DCCCD students, who are the selected, the opportunity to discover and explore a historic city in France, experience its culture and participate in innovative academic programs taught in English. Each program lasts from 14-20 days and costs $1,000. This cost includes airfare, tuition, housing, all meals, site visits and local transportation.
Students have the option to choose from four boot camps:
May 24 - June 7, 2020
Examine initial and tertiary education programs as well as lifelong learning provisions and the various schemes run by public and private institutions to find out what are the levers, initiatives and programs that help achieve equal opportunities, federate energies, promote job creation, remove obstacles to women's entrepreneurship and ultimately enhance the attractiveness of an entire region.
May 25 - June 7, 2020
Combining humanities and social sciences and the hard sciences to discover green innovations. The boot camp includes business visits, cultural excursions and teaching workshops.
June 22 - July 10, 2020
Grenoble, French Alps
Cross-disciplinary program with University of Grenoble that analyses natural and urban mountain environments with historical, economic and sociological perspectives. Topics cover climate change, earth sciences, architecture, tourism and history.
July 6 - July 19, 2020
Organized in three axes; problems, solutions and actions. Challenge of become aware of the waste resulting from a particularly linear economy that does not give materials a second chance. Discover that designs can be an excellent ecological catalyst thanks to its exploration of our lifestyles and our habits. Perceiving designs as an interface between human beings and their environment.
Requirements include a $50 refundable deposit, completion of the online application, a copy of DCCCD transcript, a letter of recommendation from a DCCCD employee, and a one-page essay for consideration.
