Services

The Academic Center for Writing (ACW) offers the following services:

  • One-on-one consultations for students having issues with writing.

  • Instruction on Pearson labs usage, Aplia and Enhanced Insite.

  • Availability of fifteen computers, a printer and four tables to work with students on writing.

  • A classroom of twenty-six computers for classroom instruction.

  • Write On Walls.

  • Sentence-of-the-Week contest.

  • Word-of-the-Day.

  • Projection technology in both the classroom and mentoring areas.

  • The Ink Spot Writing Reference Library with instruction manuals on MLA/APA citation, research techniques and various types of essay and guideline handouts.

If you are an instructor and would like to make a Classroom Reservation, please review our Reservation Procedures.

You can also schedule an appointment with a Writing Specialist. Appointments should be made 24 hours prior to your writing consultation or you can stop by the center to see if a specialist is available.  Our writing consultations last 20-30 minutes and can be made through the Accutrack system. Stop by the ACW (W114) Monday - Saturday

Monday – Thursday:  7:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Friday – Saturday:      7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
