Good Neighbor Policy

All lab computers access operates on a first-come first serve basis. Students must present their current DCCCD ID card if requested by lab personnel.


If a “logged-in” user leaves the lab for more than 10 minutes, the computer will be logged out and the station will be released for use by another student. Students’ property should be claimed at the front desk.

  • Please logoff the computer when you finish your work

  • All machines have essentially the same software and operational capabilities.

  • All computer restore the hard drives to their original configuration on reboot so store your files on an external storage device such as a flash drive.

  • The Lab is a quiet work area so please move all conversations out to the hallway.

  • No food or drink is allowed in any of the computer labs on campus.

  • All Users Must Read and Abide by the rules and policies of the Mountain View College. 

Computer Lab RULES

  • Food and Drinks are prohibited in the labs.

  • No Talking on cell phones. Turn off cell phones before entering the labs.

  • No children are allowed

  • No gaming is allowed

  • Noise making or disturbing talk is not permitted in the lab. This includes playing CD’s or any electronic devices

  • Those using computer lab facilities should work quietly, loud conversation and disruptive behavior are disturbing to those doing academic work.

  • Persons who are disruptive in the computer lab facilities will be asked to leave immediately.

  • During peak times, students engaged in non-academic activities may be asked by the lab staff to relinquish their computers to students who need to work on class assignments.

  • Computers cannot be used to make illegal copies of software applications, data, musical works or any other material that is considered copyrighted.

  • Viewing of pornography and/or other offensive material is strictly prohibited.

  • Students are responsible for all their personal items while in the lab. Do not leave personal belonging unattended, even for a short period of time.

  • Do not disconnect computer equipment or connect any other devices in electrical outlets.
