Alternative Teacher Certification Program
Sandra Crawford is the director of the Mountain View College Alternative Teacher Certification Program. She has worked with the program for the past nine years as the director, and often trains in the areas of special education and professionalism. Prior to coming to Mountain View College, Sandra taught students with emotional distrubances on the secondary level at the Dallas Indepenednt School District (DISD), and also taught adjunct courses at Texas Woman's University and Brookhaven College. She also served eight years as a specialist with the DISD Alternative Teacher Certification program.
Sandra attended the University of Hawaii and University of South Carolina for her bachelor's of science. Her master's degree is from the Texas Woman's University, where she majored in special education while specializing in educational testing, supervision of regular and special education, and completed 65 hours of study toward a doctorate with the emphasis of emotional disturbance. Her goal is to train the very best teachers for the students of our public and charter schools.
