Texas Board of Nursing

The Texas Board of Nursing (TBON) established in 1909 has the following mission:  

“Our mission is to protect and promote the welfare of the people of Texas by ensuring that each person holding a license as a nurse in the State of Texas is competent to practice safely.”

Students who graduate from the Mountain View College Associate Degree Program must comply with the all of the  requirements of the TBON to be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN exam for licensure. This includes, but is not limited to, fingerprinting and a valid criminal background check.Students who may have a eligibility issues, must contact the TBON prior to admission to the nursing program to determine eligibility to apply for licensure.
