Admission Process

Admission to the Mountain View College Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program is competitive. A process to identify the top applicants is outlined below. Those deemed eligible will be placed into an applicant pool for consideration based upon the following items:

  • English Composition I ENGL 1301 *

  • Anatomy & Physiology 1 BIOL 2401 (BIOL 1401 Prereq for BIOL 2401)**
  • Fine Arts elective (no points awarded) must be selected from the AAS Core Options for Humanities/Fine Arts

          Points earned for each completed course are given by the grade awarded:

          A = 3 points

          B = 2 points

          C = 1 point

*All prerequisite courses must be completed prior to application.

** Anatomy & Physiology 1 BIOL 2401 coursework must be completed within the past five years. If beyond five years, coursework must be retaken prior to application to receive admission points for the course.

2. Applicants with the highest total points will be selected to interview and asked to complete a professional writing sample.

         Total points are calculated and then ranked numerically using the following formula:

         Points for Prerequisite + interview + writing sample = total points
