The Spanish department at Mountain View College is committed to offering beginning and intermediate courses in Spanish. We offer a flexible schedule of classes during the day and evening sessions in order to try and accommodate the needs of every student.

The Spanish program is divided into two tracks, one for native Spanish speakers and one for non-native Spanish speakers. All students are encouraged to take the Spanish placement exam before enrolling in SPAN 1300 or SPAN 1311. This exam will determine the best set of courses for individual students to take. Read more about the placement exam at the link on the right hand side of this page.

Our classes are conducted almost exclusively in the language and incorporate various aspects of the target culture. We also provide students additional opportunities to further their development in the Spanish language through a study abroad program, as well as participation in the Spanish National Honor Society.
