Cliff Gallery + Permanent Collection

Cliff Gallery

The Cliff Gallery is located on the beautiful Mountain View College campus in West Dallas. It serves as an exhibition space for regional and national professional artists and functions as a dynamic educational resource for the students of Mountain View College.

The gallery is dedicated to presenting innovative exhibitions and programs that reflect the scope and diversity of visual art. We aim to be a vital component of the academic and cultural life of Mountain View College. Fundamental in this endeavor is to engage broad and diverse audiences, create a sense of community, and provide a place for contemplation, stimulation, and discussion of art and the questions that shape and inspire us as individuals, cultures, and communities.

This follows Mountain View College's vision: empowering people to improve their lives and communities through exemplary education and a commitment to building a diverse and inclusive learning community that promotes students' success, good stewardship, employee achievement, and positive global impact.

The over 900 square-foot Cliff Gallery provides a professional white-box space where artists working in all media can create exhibitions with few barriers. State of the art lighting, permanently installed video projector and screen, durable rich dark vinyl flooring, 12 feet high ceiling, and over 155 feet total usable linear wall space, artists have realized envisioned installations in the Cliff Gallery.

Permanent Collection

Mountain View College is a collecting institution, with a permanent collection of over one hundred works by national, regional, and student artists. Beginning in the 1980's Mountain View College has inherited, purchased, cared for, and exhibited works of art often found throughout the campus. This collection of original works of art supports Mountain View College's goals to be engaged with students, faculty, staff, alumni, prospective students, peer institutions, and the public. This commitment involves supporting and showcasing student, alumnae, faculty, and professional artists work as well as encouraging instructors from all departments to utilize the works of art as educational tools of instruction. Through course curriculum, art exhibitions, and permanent collection, Mountain View College sees the importance in fostering an appreciation for the richness and diversity of art.
