The Foreign Language Department at Mountain View is especially committed to offering Spanish language courses at the beginning and intermediate levels. Our classes are conducted almost exclusively in the targeted language and incorporate various aspects of the targeted culture.
We offer a varied schedule of classes during the day, evening and online sessions in order to accommodate the needs of every student.
The Spanish program is divided into two tracks: The regular courses for non-native Spanish speakers without any experience in the language and one for native Spanish speakers or students who may already speak the language.
All students are encouraged to take the Spanish Placement Exam (SPE) before enrolling in any SPAN course. This exam will determine the best set of courses for individual students to take. Read more about the SPE at the link on the right hand side of this page.
We provide students additional opportunities to further their development in the Spanish language through our Study Spanish Abroad Program, as well as participation in the Hispanic National Honor Society or the Honors Scholar Program.
