COURSE SUBSTITUTION DEADLINE

Transcript pre-evaluation and course substitutions completed. Please contact the nursing admissions personnel at 214-860-3694 for the forms and procedures at MVC. Our office is room H18 (H Building). 


Course work taken in and/or outside of the Dallas County Community Colleges MUST be evaluated and course substitutions must be approved prior to admission to the nursing program. 

June 1, 2019 - August 16, 2019
  • Scheduling and testing for HESI A2 Testing at MVC begins
  • Please check the website for testing referral and payment ID information.
(HESI A2 exam may be completed at any DCCCD Campus Testing Center that offers the HESI A2 or any state institution that offers the exam. The exam must include the same testing items that are required at MVC (reading, grammar, vocabulary, math, and anatomy & physiology sections). The HESI A2 exam scores are valid for two years. 

Testing score print-out must be submitted with application packet. 
  • All students are required to set up an EVOLVE account in order to register and pay for the test. Please visit EVOLVE website.
  • To schedule your appointment, please email your request to MVC ILABS. Appointments will be scheduled in person in the instructional support lab room W139. 
  • Testing appointments are limited. To ensure that you have the ability to complete the HESI A2 for the application, please schedule your test early in the testing cycle.

APPLICATION DEADLINE

Applications accepted until noon. Turn in your application in a 9x12 envelope to the nursing office (room H25). 

All the following items including the checklist must be reviewable and submitted with your application:

  • Texas Driver's License
  • Social Security Card
  • Proof of medical insurance (card)
  • Documentation of Immunizations
  • The following CPR Health Care Provider card is accepted: American Heart Association
  • Proof of Criminal Background Check (group one receipt)
  • Physical Examination & Health Record
  • Proof of TB testing results 

September 23 - 27, 2019

 

 

Interviews will be held for selected Nursing Applicants. Potential nursing students will receive an email invitation for the interview. (Please do not contact the school). 
September 27, 2019, to October 4, 2019Candidates will receive an email regarding their acceptance or non-acceptance into the program from the Executive Dean of Nursing. 

Due to the large volume of applications, staff/dean cannot provide individual explanations to those who are not accepted. 
October 11, 2019

Candidates must email the Executive Dean of Nursing by email (cshultz@dcccd.edu) no later than 5 p.m. indicating admission acceptance or regrets.

Accepted students are registered by the nursing program admissions staff and cannot self-register for any RNSG courses. 

November 12 - 13, 2019 (tentative)Student Success Camp: Building Better Nurses. Attendance for the two-day camp is mandatory.  Mandatory drug testing will be conducted at Success Camp. Please watch for next step notices for updates.
