Dance at Mountain View

Taking dance classes at Mountain View College is an affordable way to get started on a path to a brighter future. Whether you’re taking classes to transfer to a four-year college or university, or for personal enrichment, our curriculum will give you the foundational skills you need.

The Mountain View College Dance Department, under the direction of professor John Merrifield, serves as a vital dance training center for southwest Dallas County. The MVC Dance program features an experienced faculty dedicated to providing students the skills and training necessary to pursue a career in dance.

The curriculum offers a diverse selection of dance classes including Folklorico, Latin, hip-hop, African, Zumba, Pilates, yoga and body conditioning along with featured core classes in ballet, contemporary modern, jazz and dance appreciation. Performance opportunities are also offered in Latin, Folklorico, contemporary modern and auditions for the MVC Dance Company are held twice annually.
