Sustainability Office

Through mindful education and action, the Sustainability Office advocates and encourages the transformative change that occurs when environmental resilience, economic responsibility and social justice are equitable. We strive to provide the knowledge and career paths for creating a delightfully diverse, safe, healthy and just world…with clean air, clean water, soil and power that is enjoyed by all.

Unite students in action through the Sustainable Development Goals. Show students that SDGs are business & community solutions that improve lives, create jobs, restore the environment, enhance security, generate resilience & advance human health. The SDGs will be integrated into all sustainability projects and events to illustrate their impacts on our everyday lives.

If these goals are completed, it would mean an end to extreme poverty, inequality and climate change by 2030.

To celebrate the Global Goals in 2018/2019, join these campaigns:

To reduce hunger and encourage healthy food, we are asking students to think about how their food choices impact the SDGs and to pledge to make changes. From healthy eating to reducing waste, eliminating plastic packaging, sourcing closer to home and checking on the practices of food producers, take action toward a Healthy Not Hungry community. Stand up for those who are hungry right now and need your help!

To Beat Plastic Pollution, we need everyone at MVC to step up and reduce, reuse and recycle plastics in their lives. Easy actions like refilling your water bottle on campus, using reusable bags when shopping, refilling your travel mug at the coffee shop, refusing straws and cleaning up litter all make a big difference.
