Edwarttz NashOak Cliff resident hopes to make a difference in the classroom
In 1972, Edwarttz Nash was drafted into the United States Army at the tender age of 20. Three combat ribbons and 20 years later, Nash retired from military service and returned to his home town of Oak Cliff to enjoy life as a private citizen.

The Teacher Preparation Program provides students with the academic, professional, and personal resources needed to succeed as highly qualified educators.
 

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

The Mountain View College Teacher Preparation Program helps students who want to become certified K-12 teachers. Students are eligible to receive a variety of services in the Teacher Preparation office located in Room W256 including academic advising, filing of degree plans, course registration, graduation services, and transfer and financial aid information. MVC students also have the unique opportunity to experience hands-on training in the model classroom (W280) provided by a Title V grant.
 
Our campus offers an assortment of Associate Degrees in Teaching to assist students with the first two years of college course work for a seamless transfer to a 4-year college.  We offer degrees that lead to teacher certification in Early Childhood, grades 4-8, grades 8-12 Math, grades 8-12 Speech, grades 8-12 Foreign Language, and Bilingual Education.  MVC has transfer agreements with UTA, TWU, UNT, and SFA.

The S.T.A.R.S. mission is to provide a quality program that develops academic and social skills in order to enhance the lives of future teachers and students in our community.  Our purpose is to produce responsible educators and lifelong learners in a diverse and changing world.

Mountain View College and Texas Tech have formed a partnership to offer a completion of a Texas Tech University bachelor’s degree in bilingual educationor ESL, in Dallas!
 
The Texas Tech courses will be offered in an online, blended format.
