"The best opportunity to take advantage and become a new prospective member."
Why become a First-Year Club Member
The First-Year Club was founded fall semester of 2010 at Mountain View College. The club originally came about through the First-Year Program created as a way for students new to college to come together through campus networking, community involvement, friendship, and social activities. The purpose and intention of the Club is to promote a positive influence on the campus community through various community resources.
The First-Year Club welcomes prospective members to become a part of the journey into the academic arena, as well as, social and community building activities and events. We welcome you to join in and share insightful information and ideas at club meetings and to help promote positive influences throughout the whole campus community. Come, join this budding First- Year Club and share in the journey toward rewarding and enriching events and activities.
To support and encourage students excellence in education, personal growth and development, self-esteem, and self-confidence. As a First-Year Club, we are here to lend a helping hand through study groups, tutors, campus enrichment activities, providing campus resources, as needed, and the formulation of a diverse network for students with common goals and concerns. We are connected and involved in campus and student life, and we wish to foster continued interest in public service, networking and to have an excellent time while involved in college life.
To become a member of the First- Year Club, students must meet the following criteria:
- Students must be in good standing with the MVC, currently enrolled and attending a minimum of one class per semester at Mountain View College
- Students must attend at least one club meeting per month during the school semester(s) - Fall & Spring
- Students must participate in at least one club event per semester
Member Expectations & Polices
We the First- Year Club expect our members to be active in the club and participate in club meetings and club events. We are aware that you are all students and some are employed, have other extracurricular activities, other personal obligations, and of course we all have school to attend. We want to encourage our student members to keep up their grades as well as proceed to make a positive effort to be an active club member.
