All VA students utilizing the Hazelwood Exemption Act, please contact the VA Regional Office in Muskogee, Oklahoma at 1-888-GI-Bill-1 or 1-888-442-4551 or www.gibill.va.gov to obtain an updates VA Education Benefits Letter. For questions & concerns contact Mountain View VA Representative at (214) 860-8622 or email mvcfava@dcccd.edu
 
Attention: VA Students
A PAID Registration Summary must be submitted every enrollment period for VA certification of enrollment. Certifications will not be processed if summary reflects full balance due.

Also, failure to Pay in Full or set up a Payment Plan with the Business Office will result in classes being dropped.

Exception
Hazelwood and Chapter 31

In order to streamline our processes and ensure compliance with the Department of Veteran Affairs. The MVC Financial Aid Office/VA has implemented a block on ALL students certified for VA benefits. If you are attempting to register, add or drop a course. Please contact the Financial Aid Office at 214-860-8622 to request removal of the block for 24 hours. Complete your schedule changes and submit the Paid Registration Summary to the Financial Aid Office for certification by the VA Certifying Official.

Please Note: It is not necessary to see the VA rep for removal of the block.

New education benefits for Activated Reservists
There is a new education benefit available to certain reservists who were activated for at least 90 days after September 11, 2001. We call this benefit the "Reserve Educational Assistance Program" (REAP) or Chapter 1607.

You can request for Ch 1607 (REAP) benefits by completing a VA 22-1995 or VA 22-1990 and annotate the request in the remarks section then submit to your School VA Office. For more information about this program please go to the www.gibill.va.gov website.

Processing time during peak periods may take up to 30- 45 days within our office.
