PRINCESS THE DRAGON

Princess the Dragon is located on the west side of the library and can be viewed from the west windows.  It was created by Mountain View student Kacey A. Cordell.  Below is his statement about the artwork.

My name is Kacey A. Cordell, but I go by ACE. If you take the first and last letters off my first name all that’s left is Ace. All my life I’ve been different from society. So my love for art comes as no surprise to those around me. I live and breathe art. I’ve sampled almost every medium which has brought me to welding and this college.

Having the desire to grow in my skills takes me to levels of art that I would never dream of. Or to contradict myself, I have dreamed of a time when I could find a medium that could handle my absurd imagination. I do believe this is only the beginning of my life as an artist; this is only scratching the top of what’s to come.

All the years prior to this were just training to get me to the place where I could shed my skin and become reborn again as a new creation meant only for composing art. Dreams aren’t enough to keep me happy. I want what’s beyond my wildest imagination. After all I wouldn’t want my dreams to hold me back. Some would say that I’ m crazy and I would have to agree; so I suppose that I am right where I need to be – an A.D.H.D young man fighting to express myself in whatever medium I see fit. I say fighting because nothing is free.

I have worked my ____ off getting to the place that I am, and as far as I know, this is only the beginning. I am meant for so much more and I won’t be happy until my art has hit its climax. Thank you for your appreciation of my creation: Princess the Dragon.
