The "Mountain View College 2008-2012 Strategic Plan" is the product of over half a year of the collegial and participative work of MVC faculty, students, professional support staff, and administrators. The process began at the Strategic Planning Retreat on April 27-28, 2006, attended by 45 MVC employees and students. Subcommittees from that group met during the summer of 2006 to further refine the work began in April. The Planning, Budget, and Assessment (PBA) committee was formed in the fall of 2006 with 33 members (12 faculty, 2 students, 8 professional support staff, and 11 administrators). The PBA committee completed the draft at its’ November 10, 2006 meeting. The draft was shared with the MVC community on November 13, 2006, by announcing via an MVC email and posting a copy on the Research and Planning web site. A Strategic Planning Open Forum was held during Return Week on January 9, 2007. All feedback was included in the final draft, and the PBA committee approved the "Mountain View College 2008-2012 Strategic Plan" by a majority vote on February 2, 2007.
The 3/31/2008 revision changed pages 14-18 to more accurately reflect MVC's evolving Annual Planning, Budgeting, and Assessment process.

Approval of the MVC Mission Statement occurred as part of (#4) the approval of the "Consent Agenda."
