Who can receive a TB Test?
Any MVC student with a valid student I.D. or MVC employee can receive a free TB Test.
Can I get a prescription from the Health Center?
No. The RN's can only give over-the-counter medications. If your illness requires a physician, the nurse can refer you to area clinics who offer low cost services.
Where do I find information on student health insurance?
There is a link on the Health Center webpage with contact information for companies that have been approved by the DCCCD Risk Management. The Health Center also has brochures from some of the approved companies that you can pick up in W145. Please be aware that the information is provided for your convenience. Students must communicate and conduct business directly with the insurance company.
Do I need an appointment for a TB Test?
No, you do not need an appointment for a TB Test. TB Tests are given on Monday & Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Does the Health Center offer STD & HIV information and screening?
The Health Center RN's have confidential resources, brochures and referrals available in W145 or by calling 214.860.8699. Local organizations provide screenings on campus each semester. The screening dates are advertised on campus by T-Stand posters, bulletin boards located outside and inside W145, as well as in the Student Planner provided by SPAR.
What free screenings are offered by the Health Center?

Blood Pressure
Diabetes
Vision [evaluation and referrals]
Hearing
Tuberculosis (TB)
What is Go Ask Alice?
Go Ask Alice is a searchable database that has questions and answers on many topics with a focus on health from Columbia University's Health Education Program.
