Question: What is the refund policy? |
| | Students who submit a request for withdrawal from a Continuing Education course shall have their tuition fees refunded according to the following:
* Prior to the first day of the course 100%
- by the close of business on the last business day
preceding first scheduled meeting day
* During the first two days of the course 80%
- by close of business on the second scheduled course
meeting day
* After the second class day of the course 0% |

Question: Can I receive financial aid? |
| | Texas Public Educational Grant funds are available for certain Continuing Education courses. Additional information on how to apply for these funds is available through Mountain View's Financial Aid Office. Call 214-860-8688. |
Question: Can minors take classes? |
| | There are dedicate courses for minors to attend, please see youth section of the schedule. |
Question: How can I pay for my class? |
| | Payments must be made at the time of registration. We accept cash, checks, money orders and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express or debit card). Payment from a company or state agency is also accepted. |
Question: How do I register? |
| | There are several convenient methods that may be used to register. You may register by phone (214-860-8612), by mail with completed registration form found at the back of the schedule (Attn: Continuing Education 4849 W. Illinois Ave., Dallas, TX. 75211-6599), in person at our CE registration offices, or by fax (214-860-8570). |
Question: What if I move or change my phone number? |
| | It is the students' responsibility to update their contact information (i.e. phone numbers, address). Please let registration personnel know about any contact information changes. |
Question: What if my class is cancelled? |
| | At times, continuing education courses may be cancelled due to low enrollment. In the event of a cancellation, each registered student will be contacted at the phone number(s) currently on file for the student. Whenever possible, the decision to cancel a course will occur a minimum of 48 hours prior to the start of the course. After a class is cancelled, students may await a full refund or switch into a different class/section. Students may contact Registration 214-860-8612 at any time to check on the status of a course. |
Question: What if my class is full? |
| | If your class is full when you register, we will put you on a waiting list, as long as all other sections are full. If a seat becomes available or if we open another section, we will contact you. Make sure your contact information is current when requesting to be place on the waiting list. |
Question: What is a certificate? |
| | At the conclusion of each course you receive a certificate of completion. To be eligible to receive this certificate, you must have attended 80% of the class meetings. In state-funded workforce/technical classes, C.E.U.s are awarded. One Continuing Education Unit (C.E.U.) is ten (10) contact hours of participation in an organized continuing education experience under responsible sponsorship, capable direction, and qualified instruction. If you are working on an Achievement Award program, you'll be required to take a competency test to receive your certificate for the course. One certificate per person per class will be printed. Transcripts will be provided for all official requests. |
Question: What is a concurrent course? |
| | A concurrent course is a college-credit course in which CE students may enroll on a space-available basis without registering through college credit. Normal CE registration procedures apply. Call the registration office at 214-860-8612 for further information.

Question: What programs are available for seniors? |
| | We offer some daytime courses especially for those 55 or older. The Dallas County Community College District offers six credit hours tuition-free to Seniors 65+ registering through College Credit. Mountain View Continuing Education is also sponsoring The Emeritus Program, a membership club that offers on campus privileges, special events, and a discount on some classes. Question: When can I register? |
| | Registration begins as soon as schedules become available for a given semester. Registrations are processed on a first-come, first-serve basis. You may register until the third day of class if space is available. Due to minimum number of students necessary for classes to be held, we encourage you to sign up at least one week before the class starts. |
Question: Will I receive registration confirmation? |
| | If you register by phone, fax or mail, our office will not mail out any confirmation. Please call the registration office at 214-860-8612 to receive this information. |
