In Texas that means .08 percent of Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) or any amount which results in loss of normal use of mental or physical facilities. .04 if driving commercial vehicles.
If you must drink while you are out at any event, party, social gathering, appoint a designated driver, or a friend who does not drink to do the driving.
You may use the chart below to predict your estimated BAC based on your body weight and amount of alcohol consumed. It is important to remember that this chart is only a guide, and not sufficiently accurate to be considered legal evidence. The figures you calculate are averages. Individuals may vary substantially in their personal alcohol tolerance. Food in the stomach affects the rate of absorption. Medications, health, and psychological condition are also influential factors. In any case, if you've been drinking at all, be careful!

Subtract .015 percent for each hour of drinking. One drink is 1 oz. of 80 proof liquor at 40%, 12 oz. of beer at 4.5 percent, or 4 oz. of wine at 12%.
