Some of the goals of the MVC Common Book Series are:
- To increase student retention through activities that develop interest in reading, writing, and critical thinking.
- To engage students, faculty, and support staff in an open dialogue of philosophical issues, cultural and historical contexts, gender, religious, and social interactions.
- To allow faculty to expand the scope of their course curricula with new ideas.
- To open doors for networking with colleagues at area schools and universities.
- To increase community development in partnerships with the Early College High School, Molina High School, Bethune Elementary, as well as members of our immediate community.
