Writing Intensive Course Section Description
Writing intensive Course Sections as those that use discipline-specific writing to advance the learning process of the course content, promote critical thinking abilities, and refine written communication skills. The quantity of writing can, and usually will, vary based on the discipline, but, ideally, students will leave a writing intensive course with a firm understanding of the expectations, requirements, and guidelines of formal written communication in the disciplines. A course (i.e. HIST 1301) may have multiple sections but only one that is considered to be a certified as Writing Intensive. Students that receive A in these courses will receive Honors credit.
