Division Mission Statement and Goals
The Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences Division helps fulfill the college mission statement “Mountain View College empowers people and transforms communities” and college goals “1-Student Success,” “2-Employee Success,” and “3-Community Development” by providing student learning opportunities in thirteen undergraduate disciplines. The thirteen disciplines are Anthropology, Art, Dance, Drama, Government, History, Humanities, Music, Philosophy, Photography, Psychology, Religion, and Sociology.

These disciplines provide:
Freshman sophomore undergraduate courses in arts and humanities, including core and field of study curricula, that lead to associate’s and baccalaureate degrees;

Moreover, the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences Division helps fulfill the college mission statement “educational programs and P-16 partnerships designed to fulfill the commitment of an open-door policy enabling the enrollment of all students” by the faculty’s active participation in our division calendar of events.
