The Program

Aviation is one of the most exciting career fields in today’s transportation industry. Because the Dallas/Ft. Worth Area is recognized as one of the world’s leading aviation centers, Mountain View College’s unique Aviation Technology Program provides training to meet the demand for college-trained personnel in all phases of aviation. Students desiring a career in aviation may choose from one of the following programs:

Qualified aviation personnel who possess a well-rounded education are essential to many important positions in the aviation industry. Mountain View’s program includes selected aviation, English, mathematics, computer science, business, humanities, fine arts, and psychology courses.

Aviation Dispatch AAS and Certificate: MVC is deactivating both the Aviation Dispatch AAS degree and the Aviation Dispatch Certificate effective 1 Sept 2011. Students will not be permitted to declare either of the awards on an official degree plan after 1 Sept 2011. The final closing date for the two awards will be 1 Sept 2012 after which the dispatch specific courses will not be offered.

Professional Pilot Option AAS: MVC is deactivating the Professional Pilot Option AAS degree effective 1 Sept 2011. Students will not be permitted to declare this degree on an official degree plan after 1 Sept 2011. The final closing date for the award will be 1 June 2014 after which the aviation courses on the degree may not be offered.

Airport Management AAS: MVC is deactivating the Airport Management AAS degree effective 1 Sept 2011. Students will not be permitted to declare this degree on an official degree plan after 1 Sept 2011. The final closing date for the award will be 1 June 2014 after which the aviation courses on the degree may not be offered.
